Milagros

Margaritas anyone? :) My husband and i love to hang out and eat at Milagros. It's got a very nice atmosphere and killer margaritas. The outside patio is great especially on warm summer nights. The chips and salsa just keeps coming and the songs put you in a happy mood.

Milagros literally means "miracles" in spanish. I enjoy munching on their chips and salsa while waiting for my sizzling fajitas to be served. The portions are generous enough that you will have difficulty getting to the excellent desserts such as the bread pudding or flan. But that my dears, is not the best part. Once you take a sip on their sangria and margaritas you're hooked! Their cocktails and drinks are absolutely out of this world. My husband gets seconds (and thirdsss?) of strawberry mojitos, and of course, my one and only strawberry daiquiri.

So if you love drinks, or just like to have a good time with friends or family, then dine at Milagros. Another one of Bay Area's hot spots!

Aldo's Pizza

The Best Pizza in Town!

Aldo's Pizza began as a dream for founder Aldo Scaliucci. It is located at Norfolk St. in San Mateo since 1958. Aldo's Pizza used to be under the name Peewee's Pizza. When the restaurant became more popular, word began to spread about the great pizza served by Aldo. He then changed the restaurant's name to his own.

Aldo's Pizza is known for it's specialty, the thin crust pizza. To top it off, it is made using only the freshest, highest-quality ingredients. When Aldo retired, he passed along his recipe to Manuel and Ana, who bought the restaurant, so customers could continue to enjoy terrific italian pizza in the neighborhood.

All pizzas come with sauce and Mozzarella, Provolone and Cheddar cheese. Their pizzas come in different sizes too. You can choose from the Petite (6") serves 1, Small (10") serves 1-2, Medium (12") serves 2-3, Large (14") serves 3-4, X-Large (16") serves 5-6, and Giant (18") serves 6+.

What I usually order is their Aldo's special, X-Large 16". The toppings are Pepperoni, Salami, Olives and Mushrooms. But of course, there are other great pizzas to choose from. They also serve pastas, burgers, salads and sandwiches. Aldo's pizza is truly a pizza you will never forget!

Gerry's Grill Restaurant and Bar

Gerry's Grill is a filipino restaurant located at the Union Landing Complex in Fremont. It's a good place to hang out with friends, watch the boxing game like "Manny Pacquiao" or just chill at the bar.

Gerry's grill offers a combination of quality grills, seafood and asian cuisines plus the perfect ambience that goes with them. Some of the top food choices that I recommend are the Sugba Kinilaw, Grilled Squid, Sizzling Pork Sisig, Crispy pata and lots lots more!

Sugba kinilaw is raw tuna with vinegar and spices topped with grilled pork belly. Crispy Pata, another favorite dish of mine, is pork knuckles deep fried till crisp. Sizzling Sisig is Gerry's Grill's topseller! Crackling pork meat sauteed with onions and spices. Served on a skillet.

Soups... Sinigang is one of my favorites. It has that little sour flavour that makes you crave for more. There are different types of sinigang soups. They have the Salmon, Pork, Seafood, Shrimp, Milkfish (Bangus), and beef ribs. I prefer the pork though, IMHO.

Good desserts that's a must-try are Halo-halo, Leche Flan and Buko Pandan. Halo-halo is very popular in the Philippines. It is one of our best delicacies. For those of you who don't know what halo-halo is, it's a mixed sweetened tropical fruit served topped with ice cream and caramel custard. Mmm...

One of Bay Area's hot spots.. perfect to celebrate your birthdays! ENJOY!

Vino Santo Bistro

Vino Santo Bistro is a small italian restaurant located in downtown Redwood City owned by Mr. Ocegueda. This is by far my most favorite italian place in the bay area. It reminds me of the italian restaurant back home called "RED TOMATO" where my bestfriend and I go to, to chat and eat our favorite Spaghetti Arabiatta.

I have dined here at Vino Santo Bistro 4 times and had never been disappointed. I highly recommend the tortellini carbonara and the Linguini Con Gamberi. The tortellini carbonara just melts in your mouth. It has that soft, cheesy flavour every time and I just let it melt in there and enjoy that texture. This is probably the only food that I eat in slow motion haha.

The bruschetta, bread with diced tomatoes, basil and olive oil always pairs well with any pasta dishes. So make sure not to skip that out. The service is impeccable, the price is average. If you're dining for 2, I would say $50-$60. If you would like to take someone special out to dinner, then Vino Santo Bistro is the perfect place to go. The lights are dim which makes the place romantic, beautiful atmosphere and you can take a stroll outside, where it is safe, clean and love is in the air.
